ELECTRONIC WASTE (E-WASTE) RECYCLING IN NAMIBIA: Bring your e-waste to EcoRobotics

EcoRobotics teamed up with NamiGreen to help recycle electronic waste in Namibia — including computers, phones, cables, printers, small appliances and other electronics.

The EcoRobotics team is as passionate about the environment and our country as we are about electronics. That is why we have been helping Namibians recycle e-waste responsibly since 2021 — and we are still going strong.

If you have old electronics gathering dust, don’t let them become forgotten drawer gremlins. Bring your e-waste to EcoRobotics and we will make sure it is handled through the right recycling channels with NamiGreen.

Our Windhoek office acts as an e-waste drop-off point for the public and companies by hosting a large e-waste container that can handle larger e-waste goods and gadgets, including computers, printers, small appliances and other electronics.

EcoRobotics recycling update

Every cable, computer and gadget counts — and together, they add up beautifully.

To date, EcoRobotics has recycled 2,997.9 kg of e-waste through NamiGreen, helping save an estimated 4,316.9 kg of CO₂.

According to the NamiGreen recycling portal, this is equal to approximately 172.7 trees.

That’s 11 recycling jobs completed so far — and plenty more old electronics still waiting for their second life.

So, if your storeroom, office cupboard or “I’ll deal with this later” box has old electronics hiding in it, this is your sign. Bring your e-waste to EcoRobotics and let’s keep Namibia a little greener, one retired gadget at a time.

What e-waste can you bring?

Our e-waste drop-off is for electronic waste only.

You can bring items such as:

  • Phones
  • Computers
  • Cables
  • Printers
  • Small appliances
  • Other electronics

Please note: No batteries may be placed in the e-waste container.

Why we chose NamiGreen

NamiGreen is a recycling company in Namibia that recycles electronic waste. They recycle and dispose of e-waste for a variety of organisations, businesses and private individuals.

NamiGreen follows the ISO 14000 series environmental management systems and works to ensure the preservation of the health and safety of their employees. E-waste contains hazardous materials that can be harmful to humans, animals and the environment if it is not handled correctly, which is why responsible recycling matters.

NamiGreen’s efforts include analysing the carbon dioxide impact of e-waste collected and recycled. These measurements are then delivered to clients in the form of a certificate of disposal, which includes the CO₂ savings generated by that recycling effort.

NamiGreen collaborates with government, municipalities, parastatals and local businesses to manage the growing amount of electronic waste efficiently and safely. Their mission is to keep Namibia and Africa’s environment green and healthy.

NamiGreen’s mission can be summarised as follows:

  • Recycling e-waste to safeguard the environment and future generations.
  • Responsible and secure e-waste disposal throughout Namibia.
  • Assisting in the creation of jobs in the e-waste recycling business.
  • Working efficiently and following through on our commitments.

NamiGreen handles e-waste professionally and recycles it in a safe and environmentally responsible manner throughout Namibia. Not only does recycling help support a greener Namibia, but it also creates employment for our locals.

What happens to the e-waste?

Once collected by NamiGreen, electronics are completely dismantled and sorted into various fractions, such as metals, printed circuit boards and plastics.

These fractions are then sent to different recycling plants in Europe, where they are eventually turned into new products.

Pretty clever, right? Old electronics go from “what do we do with this?” to part of a much bigger recycling story.

Ready to clear out your old electronics?

Bring your e-waste to EcoRobotics at Hyper Motor City, Unit 10, Maxwell Street, Windhoek, and help keep electronic waste out of landfills.

Whether it is a few cables, an old phone, a retired printer or a box of office electronics, your drop-off helps support safer, more responsible recycling in Namibia.

Small drop-off. Big difference. Green points unlocked.
